I have a friend at church who has twin, blonde, 4 year old girls who often dress in the same outfits. His little princesses love our adopted daughter, Izabellah, who is the youngest of our new brood. Day 44
Daily LEADERSHIP Tip / Accountability Culture #5
Day 43 1. We are focused on improving the 5th and final key ingredient of an Accountability Culture: Further refining the metrics that measure the most profitable managed service provider organizations. We are doing this in our Accountability Culture coaching program, our free 20 Mile Challenge training based on Jim Collins' Great by Choice book, and our own internal standards for success. 2. We are better defining what people do with our services and how they can achieve a 10X return on working with us. Candidly, like many of our managed service provider Clients, lately we have not communicated our value as well as we could. 3. Two results of #1 and #2 above is later this summer we will implement new MANAGEtoWIN functionality that delivers additional, immediate ROI and ROA (Return On Accountability); and a totally redesigned sales website. In closing these five communications on an Accountability Culture, let me emphasize the importance of pursuing the right metrics with accountability:
Today we return from a holiday weekend and need to FOCUS. I am not trying to be nasty, but we need to forget that it is summer during work hours and push hard for results.
Great metrics without accountability is dreaming. (Again, no progress.)
Accountability Culture #4
Systematic Power is Step #4 of an Accountability Culture, if I am limited to only five aspects.
You will NEVER achieve your strongest possible company culture unless you are as systematic with your employees as you are with technology, accounting, development, manufacturing, client delivery, sales...
- This means a system for hiring great people. (My Hire The Best & Avoid The Rest hiring system has 10 steps.)
- You need a system for managing people day-by-day, weekly, monthly... through the year. What does that look like?
- And what about a system for professional development? Do you know what certifications your people have, what additional certifications are needed prior to year-end, and what your people want to learn? We track this in Certle along with our vendor programs.
- Last, but definitely not least, what is your system for retaining top employeesand continuing to motivate them to perform at a high level?
We teach all four of these systems and more in our LEADERSHIP Essentials Service and Academy. Let me know if you need help.
Be a Systematic Leader - because inconsistency hurts.
Daily LEADERSHIP Tip / Accountability Culture #3
